Great taste.
We collaborated with George Brown College to develop a salsa recipe that is as flavourful as it is impactful.
This mild, runny salsa has a sharp garlic flavour and very little heat.
We kept our recipe simple, using only 7 ingredients: crushed tomatoes, onion, garlic, jalapeno, salt, citric acid, and spices.
Made right here in Ontario by KLFS staff and volunteers, it is our goal to use fresh local ingredients to support a sustainable food system and support our local economy.
Great cause.
Unlike massive multi-national corporations who pocket profits from product sales, the proceeds from KLFS Salsa are invested into operating expenses such as rent, allowing us to continue to deliver food access and food literacy programs within the City of Kawartha Lakes.
This social enterprise will help KLFS be financially resilient in the midst of any future economic uncertainty. The project will be an ongoing, self-sustaining source of revenue that compliments our regular fundraising efforts. Diversifying our streams of income is a priority for our team as a way of mitigating risk and ensuring we can always be relied on by our member agencies and our community during times of need.
